AHHHH... I'm so behind! :P I think this is everything so far?
For my final project I will draw an adaptation of an interview in “Graffiti Women” into a short comic, similar to the readings we had during the first half of the semester and the Squirrel Cop assignment. The source material is an interview with Jel, a female American graffiti artist featured in the introduction to the book. I’m planning to draw it in black and white with ink, brush and pen. The size will probably be the standard 8.5X11 and about 8 to ten pages long, although it might be longer depending on how many splash layouts I end up using.
This is the quote from the interview I’m taking inspiration from:
“Once, I was about to catch a spot and a cop stopped me. I had to pretend I was waiting for the bus. He tells me that the bus has stopped running and it’s not a safe area. He offers me a ride home. I’d have looked suspicious if I said no, so I got in the car, clinging on to my bag to stop the cans shaking. I was so nervous he was going to hear my paint and know automatically what I was up to. Boy did he kill my night! I was so pissed.”
